Projects
I base my life around running several projects with varying degrees of usefulness. With my professional background as a web developer, many of them are website-based or at least technical in nature, although this is not exclusively the case.
Chapstan
I operate as one half of a partnership called Chapstan with a talented developer and web designer, Carl Crowder. He does freelance web design under the name ArchaDesign.
The intent was to pick a new idea once a month and run with it until a functional website was built. This means we're striving for quality over quantity, but we hope that one or two ideas at least are interesting or useful to some people one day.
Other websites
There are a number of collaborations in the works for websites I'm working on alone or with various contributors. All of these are in their earliest stages, so details will follow.
Music
With a strong passion for and a varied taste in music, there are a few related projects I am working on in this area. A lot of these are dormant right now, so await further information in the Autmumn of 2010.
Comedy
As part of the comedy duo WAFTI, I produce a variety of satirical or comedy items such as news and poetry. See the comedy page for more details.
Adventures
With an inability to stay still for too long, I have various ideas for trips, adventures and challenges that I come up with faster than I could possibly enact. I visit several festivals over the Summer (and sometimes other times in the year). I will be writing up posts after each one.
A project launched in June 2010 is a process to visit new parts of the UK by having a machine tell me where to go. I am attempting a pledge to visit a different location once a month based on a process that I cannot feasibly predict. A fuller explanation is on the adventures page.
